Women’s Cancer Support Inc. provides many practical items and support services for women with cancer across the Gold Coast, Northern Rivers, Logan and the Scenic Rim. The group began as an online support group for women affected by cancer in June 2019 and, since August 2024, has operated from premises affectionately known as the "Haven" in Nerang, supporting around 1,000 local women and their families.

Due to the sale of the building to a developer, the charity needs to relocate the "Haven" from its current premises in Nerang.
​
"While the Haven is relocating, our charity and support are not," charity President Sandra Johnston OAM said.
​
"We are committed to ensuring our members continue to receive support through our website, social media and current activities sponsored by the GCCC throughout the Gold Coast. As soon as practical, our meet-ups, workshops, presentations and other services will continue to be delivered from community venues across the Gold Coast while we work towards securing a permanent home.
​
"This period will also provide an opportunity to review how we can best support the growing number of people impacted by cancer across our region. This includes the development of a mobile app, expanding our online services, and strengthening our outreach into the community.
​
"The valuable research and data gathered over the past two years, in partnership with Bond University and Griffith University, have provided important insights into the needs of our members. These learnings will help shape the future of our organisation as we work towards establishing a larger, purpose-built Cancer Wellness Centre that will support people of all ages, genders and cancer diagnoses," Ms Johnston said.

Ms Johnston thanked the Board, every volunteer, health professional, service provider, supporter, donor and community partner who helped make the Haven the Gold Coast's first dedicated Cancer Wellness Centre. Built entirely by volunteers, it has provided hope, connection and practical support to hundreds of local people living with cancer and their families.

"This is not the end of our journey—it is the beginning of our next chapter," Ms Johnston said. "We remain committed to ensuring that no woman faces cancer alone, and we look forward to continuing to support our community as we build an even stronger future."
