Care & Comfort Support
The Personal Touch - from US to YOU. Gift Bags, Wigs, Headwear & Pamper Workshops

Care Packs
Thanks to a generous donation of 1,000 brown paper bags, we hold craft sessions where we decorate, paint, and personalize the bags to make them special and beautiful. During our packing sessions, the group comes together to pack around 25 bags at a time.

We have received some donated items and purchase most of the contents, including sleep masks, fans, cooling towels, tissues, hand sanitiser, candles, journals with pens, mandala colouring books, and sets with colored pencils and a sharpener in a handmade cloth envelope. We also include a stress-relief squishy ball, non-slip socks, and non-chemical toiletries. Additionally, we add a hand crocheted “Heart Hug” or “Worry Worm” along with its poem in a small bag, and sometimes include other donated items.

These Care Packs are distributed by our “Visiting Fairies", a group of members who stay in touch via a chat group. When we hear of a member in need, such as those at GCUH on Tuesdays, we message the group to see who is available to visit. Those who can, offer to deliver the Care Pack in person, spreading kindness and support. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
Port/Seatbelt Cushions, Chemo Bags & Cold Cap Headbands
Our members come together for sewing and social days to create essential items like port cushions, chemo bags, and headbands for cold cap therapy.
When there’s urgent demand, other charities also pitch in, and some members sew from home.
These handmade items are delivered to chemo treatment centres, including GCUH, GC Private, Pindara, John Flynn, Icon Southport, and Tweed Hospital, ensuring patients have the comfort they need.

Ponchos

We deliver the ponchos donated by Beauties Feeling Fabulous
the day before member is due for surgery at Robina, Tweed or private hospital OR the member picks up a poncho from a nearby tribe member.
