A Legal Disclaimer
The Women’s Cancer Support Inc provides funding to support the resources, events, and services available at the Women’s Cancer Support HAVEN.
The charity does not manage or oversee the activities of any of its online or neighbourhood support groups, nor does it provide direct guidance, advice, or support to individuals.
The support groups operate independently, and any discussions, activities, or advice shared within the groups are the sole responsibility of its members and facilitators.
Participation is voluntary, and individuals are encouraged to seek professional medical or legal advice as needed.

Members of the support groups are solely responsible for their own posts and comments on the group’s Facebook pages and Messenger chats. The administrators and moderators do not take responsibility for any content shared by members.
Additionally, any member found screenshotting, copying, or sharing content from the private support group without explicit permission will face legal consequences and prosecution accordingly

Group rules from the admins

1. Be kind and Respectful. We are here to lift one another up. No judgement, bullying, hate speech, or personal attacks. Disagreements are okay, but keep them respectful.

2. Privacy & Confidentiality. What is shared in this group stays in this group. Do not screenshot, share, or repeat personal stories outside the group without permission. Respect that some women may be newly diagnosed and feeling very vulnerable.

3. No medical advice or “snake oil cures”. Members may share personal experiences, but this is not a medical advice group. Always consult your doctor, oncologist, or health professional for decisions about your health. Posts suggesting alternative therapies are allowed, but must be framed as personal experiences, not as “cures.”

4. No Promotions or Fundraising (unless approved). No advertising, self-promotion, or fundraising without Admin approval. This includes selling products, business links, MLMs, or asking for money directly. We have our own charity that provides the HAVEN and all of the facilities so we'd appreciate your support here.

5. Respect our Safe Space. Sensitive topics (religion, politics, COVID-19 debates) are discouraged unless directly related to cancer support. Be mindful of triggering content — please add a content warning for graphic or distressing details.

6. Membership Questions & Eligibility. To protect members, all new members must answer entry questions. Members must be women who are directly affected by cancer (diagnosed, in treatment, survivor, thriver) or carers if approved.

7. Waiver and Disclaimer. The views, opinions, and information shared by members are their own. The group, its Admins, Moderators, and associated charity are not responsible or liable for any content posted by members. By joining, you agree that: You participate at your own risk. You will not hold the group, Admins, Moderators, or associated charity legally responsible for any harm, advice, or outcomes from group interactions. You accept that this is a peer support group, not a professional medical or counselling service.

8. Admin & Moderator Rights. Admins and Moderators may remove posts, comments, or members that break the rules. Decisions by Admins are final. Anyone trying to remove admin or moderators will be removed from the group and legal advise will ascertain if any further action will be taken.
